COLO SPRGS, CO (Sept. 15, 2025) – USA Shooting has named Anthony Lutz as Pistol National Team Manager, signaling a renewed commitment to building a world-class pistol program ahead of the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.

A former U.S. National Pistol Team member, Lutz brings both athlete and coaching expertise. From 2017 to 2025, he served as Assistant Pistol Coach at The Ohio State University, guiding six national team championships and mentoring 12 individual collegiate champions. His athletes have gone on to win Olympic quotas and compete on the world stage, including Paris 2024 finalist Katelyn Abeln.

“Anthony embodies the culture of accountability, consistency, and high performance we are instilling across USA Shooting,” said Kelly Reisdorf, CEO of USA Shooting. “Pistol has long been a cornerstone of America’s Olympic tradition, and with Anthony’s leadership we are setting the standard for what it takes to compete and succeed at the international level.”

In his new role, Lutz will focus on ensuring U.S. pistol athletes are equipped to meet the demands of global competition. “Our mission is clear: to give athletes the structure, support, and opportunities required to excel,” said Lutz. “Sustainable success comes from discipline and preparation, and we are building a program that reflects that.”

With this appointment, USA Shooting is strengthening its pathway for pistol athletes and expanding partnerships to fuel future growth. Members and supporters are invited to stand with Team USA as the program builds toward LA28 and beyond.
