From: USA Shooting Athletes’ Advisory Committee (AAC)

Attention 10 Year and 10 Year+ Para, Pistol and Shotgun Athletes,

The Athletes’ Advisory Council (AAC) is conducting an election, per the USA Shooting Bylaws, available on the USA Shooting website or via this link: USA Shooting Bylaws effective 11/25/2024 and consistent with the USA Shooting AAC Bylaws, available on the USA Shooting website or via this link: USA Shooting Athletes’ Advisory Council (AAC) Bylaws effective 10/11/2025 to fill the Board and AAC athlete positions for the Para and Pistol disciplines and to fill a recently vacated AAC Secondary Shotgun position:

  • USA Shooting Board Athlete Director – Para
  • USA Shooting Board Athlete Director – Pistol
  • USA Shooting AAC Secondary Representative – Para
  • USA Shooting AAC Secondary Representative – Pistol
  • USA Shooting AAC Secondary Representative – Shotgun

Per the USA Shooting Bylaws and the AAC Bylaws, “USA Shooting 10 Year Athletes” and “USA Shooting 10 Year+ Athletes” are eligible to run for these positions. However, only 10 Year Athletes are eligible to vote and 10 Year Athletes must constitute 20% of the Board and 80% of the AAC Athlete representation. See qualification details in the USA Shooting Bylaws.

The USA Shooting Para and Pistol Board Athlete Directors and ACC Representatives are elected to serve 4-year terms which begin in January 2027 and run through December of 2030. The USA Shooting AAC Secondary Shotgun Representative will complete the term of a recently vacated seat and hence their term will begin immediately following the election and run through December of 2028.  Representatives are expected to attend all regularly scheduled meetings, as well as special or executive session meetings. Most meetings are conducted virtually via Zoom or equivalent. Directors and AAC Representatives cannot vote by proxy and are not compensated for their service.

Effective immediately, if you are interested in serving, you can self-nominate to run for either or both positions, depending on your specific interests. Athletes interested in nominating others should contact the individual directly and encourage them to submit the completed Candidate Application & Eligibility Disclosure Form. Please note that the AAC has separated the Board and AAC elections to allow athletes to choose to serve in a broader USA Shooting governance role as an Athlete Director on the Board or to focus on athlete-specific issues as an AAC discipline representative. The elections will be run sequentially, with the Athlete Director election first, and the AAC Representative election following.

Please see Call for Nominations document for eligibility requirements and details on the nomination process. Nominees must complete and submit the Candidate Application and Eligibility Disclosure Form with all required documentation by October 26, 2026, at 11:59 PM Mountain Time, including a Statement of Intent and resume/CV, as well as completing an updated Conflict of Interest Disclosure Form, an updated Background Check and other disclosures. Please note that a conflict does not automatically disqualify you from serving, but it must be disclosed so that athletes have all the necessary information before they vote. Refer to the USA Shooting Conflict of Interest Policy for more details.

As noted above, this nomination period will run until October 26, 2026 at 11:59 PM Mountain Time. Candidate Application & Eligibility Disclosure Forms with all required documentation must be sent to julia.mlodozyniec@usashooting.org and received by this deadline. Please review the USA Shooting AAC Bylaws for further details.

Once the nomination period has closed, and candidates have been vetted to ensure all eligibility requirements have been met, we will send out a second email, with voting instructions. Voting will be conducted electronically. NOTE: Per the USA Shooting Bylaws and the AAC Bylaws, only “USA Shooting 10 Year Athletes” are eligible to vote.

The election schedule is planned as follows, pending any issues that arise with candidate review and eligibility:

  • November 2, 2026 – Athlete Director voting begins
  • November 5, 2026 – Athlete Director voting closes
  • November 6, 2026 – Athlete Director results announced
  • November 9, 2026 – AAC Secondary Representative voting begins
  • November 12, 2026 – AAC Secondary Representative voting closes
  • November 13, 2026 – AAC Secondary Representative results announced

Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

Thank you,

Julia Mlodozyniec
